Grooves in gasket surfaces

Hello, can anyone help me with this question: what is the purpose of the grooves in the surfaces of crankcase, cylinder and cylinder top? It looks as if it was meant for O-ring gaskets, but they are not shown in the spares list.

Hi Joerns
forget the Groovs.
Some people put Plasticworms in it but it is not necesseri.
Use the original Gaskets and everyehing will be okay.
